The Murr Family will be presenting a scholarship to a lucky young rider on Saturday night at the show!
CASHA is pleased to announce the formation of a new annual scholarship fund to benefit one of our active junior CASHA members each year, beginning in 2013. The Murr Family Scholarship Fund is offering a $500.00 scholarship for the purpose of encouraging continuing education for our CASHA junior members. This scholarship is designed to reward our young members for their participation, dedication and service within our community.† This scholarship will be awarded to a member who is a junior or senior in high school, and who has shown in at least 3 local Saddlebred shows during the year for which they are applying.† Community service performed in areas besides the horse world also will be considered.† Financial need is not a requirement for this scholarship.† Funds will be paid directly to the school of the recipientís choice prior to the beginning of the recipientís first semester.† The recipient will be announced during Championship Night at the Denver Queen City Horse Show in July of each year. Applications will be due by June 1st of each year.
The Denver Queen City Horse Show (DQCHS) is a step above the rest in 2014! The horse show holds the Colorado Saddlebred State Championships and the Centennial State Regional Championship Peruvian Horse Show.† DQCHS is in its 46th year and is located at the National Western Events Center, 1515 East 47th Avenue, Denver, CO. It will be held July 17-19, 2014 and entries close on June 20, 2014. The horse show offers two show performances daily at 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and last approximately 3 hours each. The horse show attracts approximately 100-150 World Class American Saddlebred Horses, Peruvian, Arabians, Morgans, and various other breeds. Thursday and Friday nights will open with a grand entry presentation by the Westernaires at 6:00 pm.
The horse show itself benefits the American Cancer Society and will feature a UPHA Iron Will Championship Night where all classes Saturday night will be held in honor of this charity. Cancer celebrants will be honored in center ring during the last class, the ASB Five Gaited Amateur Championship.† Red is the color of support for the evening. All exhibitors and spectators are encouraged to wear red for Saturday night's performance which starts at 6:00 pm.
The 46th Denver Queen City Horse Show is a United States Equestrian Federation "A" rated show, featuring the Colorado American Saddlebred State Championships, Colorado American Saddlebred Futurity, and the Centennial State Regional Championship Peruvian Horse Show.
